Our team needed a scalable way to identify venture capital firms that were actively investing in our ICP, understand each firm's investment thesis, and prioritize outreach. The existing process relied on manual research across multiple websites, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, and news sources, making it slow, inconsistent, and difficult to scale.
I designed and built an end-to-end workflow in Clay that automated the entire research and enrichment process.
The workflow:
Throughout development, I iterated on prompts, scoring logic, and enrichment sources to improve both accuracy and relevance while reducing unnecessary API usage and costs.
The workflow transformed what had previously been several hours of manual research into an automated system that could process hundreds of firms with consistent quality.
Instead of spending time collecting information, the team could immediately focus on evaluating high-fit opportunities and building relationships. It also standardized how investment firms were qualified, improved personalization at scale, and created a repeatable process that could easily be adapted for future sourcing projects.
